- General Practice

We provide full general practice services to care for you and your family with the added advantage of After Hours care 8am to 8pm, 7 days a week.

When can I see a doctor?

You can either make an appointment to see your doctor Monday to Friday 8.00am - 5.30pm or use our walk in clinic which is available every day from 8.00am - 8.00pm. 

We will always see you the same day if your problem is urgent. If your doctor is fully booked you can make an appointment with another doctor.

Appointments are up to 15 minutes. You can help us keep waiting times short by telling us if your problem is urgent or will require extra time. 

If you need a text reminder of your appointment time, please let us know as this is avaliable at no charge.

We would appreciate if you cannot make your appointment please let us know as someone else may need your appointment time.

Double appointments are required for more than one person attending, multiple problems, some procedures and medicals. Please ask the reception staff to advise you on the correct appointment for you.

We are open from 8.00am to 8.00pm, 7 days a week with appointments available Monday - Friday from 8.00am - 5.30pm. 

On Public Holidays we are open from 8.00am to 8.00pm, including Christmas Day.

If you do not expect to receive most of your health care services from us, you may wish to remain as a casual patient.


Nurse appointments are available for nurse clinics and services including Diabetes, Cervical Smears, Smoking Cessation, Men's and Women's Wellness Checks and Immunisations.

Child Health is free for children under 13 years who are enrolled at Moorhouse.

Maternity care is free for women' in the first trimester(12 Weeks). If you are pregnant and need to see a Doctor at any stage during your pregnancy, if the illness is pregnancy related there is no charge provided you have a referral from a LMC. 

Sexual Health services are available free to FOR patients aged 20 years and under who are enrolled with a GP in Canterbury. Services include:

  • Contraception - including emergency contraception 'The Morning After Pill'. 
  • Testing and treatment of Sexually Transmissible Infections (STIs)
  • Sexual health advice
  • HPV vaccination to protect against cervical, penile and throat cancers
  • Pregnancy testing and advice 
  • Cervical smears

Mental Health care is provided by all our doctors and enrolled patients may be eligible for an extended consultation at no additional cost.

Insurance Medicals are best done by your own doctor. The insurance company will give you and your doctor very specific instructions on what they require. The usual is a half hour appointment with paperwork completed by you beforehand and be prepared for a blood test, urine sample and physical examination. The company will usually pay the fees if they have requested the medical.

Sports Injuries - with X-ray and physiotherapy on site, you can be treated right from the initial injury and through your rehabilitation journey. We also have fracture clinics and soft tissue injury clinics on site.

Chaperone - All our patients have the right to have a chaperone present during examinations if they wish. You may wish to bring a support person with you or have a nurse chaperone. Please speak to your doctor or practice nurse to let them know you would like this service.
